Gradius goes SRPG on mobile phones

Following in the footsteps of R-Type Command/Tactics, Konami is developing a turn based tactical version of Gradius. Don't get too excited, though, as it's coming to cell phones and not consoles. Source: Andriasang

Two Tears to Tiara games to PSP

Two PS3 tactics games in the Tears to Tiara series, are now being ported to PSP.  These are former PC ero games stripped of the porn, and thus any reason to play them, obviously.  They also aren't going to be ported to NA anytime soon.  Source: Andriasang

Metal Brigade Tactics (PC)

I came across a promising looking mech based PC tactics game called Metal Brigade Tactics.  If you're still cursing Front Mission turning into an RTS, Metal Brigade might be able to satisfy your tactical robot smashing urges.  It's available at GamersGate for $9.99.

Gundam G Generation Touch for iPhone

Yep.. it's an iphone version of Gundam G Generation, which is sort of the red headed stepchild to the Super Robot Wars series.  You'll probably need a Japanese iTunes store account just to buy it.

More Super Robot Wars L info

Famitsu has published some more info on SRW L.  Combatwise, they're going with a pair system similar to the 3 unit system in SRW Z.  This should hopefully keep the mechanics from seeming too stale or similar to the tons of other SRW games out there.  Now if they could only get this series to NA more often..

Valkyria Chronicles III trailers, more info..

Translated famitsu interview.  Relevant game mechanics information: The story is more linear with more importance on the main story.  No more wireless pvp for whatever reason.  Less grinding, less classes.  Supposed to be a more 'back to the basics' sort of game like Valkyria Chronicles.
Demo will be arriving on PSN in November 2010.
Looks like an interesting new weapon in that screenshot that hits everything in sight with missiles?
Official site is up.
Gameplay footage here.

Skulls of the Shogun first official trailer.

Skulls of the Shogun, a wargame-lite with an emphasis on multiplayer, had its first official trailer released two days ago. It's announced for XBLA and PC thus far. Take a look. Preview here.

Dawn of Heroes (DS) ships. Good luck finding a copy.

The much delayed and relatively unknown Dawn of Heroes for DS has shipped.  The official facebook page has an update stating "Hi all! The games were shipped yesterday so they should hit the shelves very soon!:D".  If you actually want to get your hands on the game, you should probably have preordered at Gamestop, Ebgames or Amazon by now.  You can read my preview of Dawn of Heroes here.

Battle vs Chess ships Sept 28, 2010. New Tactics Ogre combat details.

SouthPeak Interactive to Ship Battle vs. Chess to Retailers on September 28.  Battle vs. Chess is mostly a chess clone, but it features some remixed modes that propel it into slightly original territory compared to your average chess game.  They've thrown lots of money at entertaining combat animations.

The Tactics Ogre PSP remake will feature a history of all of your moves which you can skip back to at your leisure.  It's like an extended autosave feature, which is interesting, but I'm wondering what kind of challenges they'll throw at you to take advantage of having such exacting control of your every move.  There's also a feature that lets you preview different branching story paths.

Valkyria Chronicles III? Teaser Site open.

Coinciding with the Tokyo Games Show this month, Sega has added a teaser website for what is presumably Valkyria Chronicles III.  Valkyria Chronicles II just shipped in NA so you should go buy a copy even if you don't have a PSP.  I've picked up VCII and it's lots of fun.  There's far more customization options than the original if you like micromanaging your party.  There's a choice of Normal and Easy modes, but I haven't heard of any Hard modes being unlocked in the Japanese version.
