thx for the plug.
Yeah lots of cool stuff. Very exciting times.
I like the idea of Ecol Tactics, seems to be something like Disgaea or perhaps Jeanne d'Arc. Oh and online. I'm hoping something special comes out of here, like multiplayer battles or even tournaments :) For now they only talk about a rpg campaign.
Skulls of the Shogun, I'm still very skeptic about not having a countable grid. Of course they do have a grid but its in pixels LOL and only the developer can see it. Strategy in this game most be very different. But is it fun and challenging? Will have to play it.
Project X Zone looks very cool, now we need to know if it plays well but I do like the idea.
The new Fire Emblem most be good, haven't see a bad review. Matt, you've got to take it for a ride LOL
Blood, Grain and Steel is a very strange game, its like it has a strategic map and a tactical map. Perhaps they went to overboard with this concept.
Hearing the Just Tactics interview, I think this game can go far, they all love Starcraft and we all know that game has a very good competitive scene (the battle.net site and tournaments). I think this game can be good, the card system still backs me off but if its a card system that only represents units and not to much based on randomness, it can be good.
I've played a bit of WarMage Battlegrounds, it has everything to be good as a online game, but I still didn't get into it. The interface is still bugging me. Have to get more gameplay here to be sure.
I like this project, Telepath Tactics. Its developed by Craig Stern which we know is a fan of this genre. When it starts to get cash flow, graphics will get pumped up, there can be a classic here. For now the core code looks very good in my opinion. The TBS community has to send him ideas.
Ecol Tactics looks interesting, but it's hard for small time F2P games to survive these days.
Skulls of the Shogun's circular movement is different for sure. It's more precise and mastering the spacing might take longer than counting grid tiles. Of course the game gives you plenty of guidance of what's in your attack range.
Project X Zone is by all accounts a bad tactics game. Very boring with a lot of trash enemies to mow down.
I'm glad the indie community is keeping tactics games alive on PC.
